Washington Island Child Care is looking for a Part-Time Child Care Worker

Workers are responsible for the well-being of the children under their care. They must monitor the children to ensure that they play and interact with one another in a safe and appropriate manner. They will teach and supervise them while also motivating them to use their mental capacities and exercise their imagination.

Responsibilities

  • Working with the licensee, Lead Teacher and parents to form a positive, supportive atmosphere

  • Ensuring confidentiality of privileged information

  • Adhering to Center policies and procedures and to licensing rules

  • Working all days and hours assigned; perform all assigned tasks and responsibilities; be punctual

  • Performing any additional program duties as assigned by the licensee or Lead Teacher according to Center needs

  • Attending all scheduled staff meetings

Skills

  • Proven experience as a childcare / daycare teacher

  • Excellent knowledge of child development and up-to-date education methods

  • Methodical and creative

  • Patience, flexibility, and love for children

  • Strong communication and time management skills

Requirements

  • Certificate in first aid and CPR

  • Mandated Reporter Training    

  • Any/all childcare clearance requirements including State of Wisconsin fingerprinting and Tuberculosis (TB) clearance

  • Immunization records                                                

  • Physical examination

  • High School Diploma

Job Type Part-Time                     

Pay $15.00 per hour

Schedule Flexible, Monday to Thursday between the hours of 7:15 AM and 5:45 PM

License/Certification Willingness to complete State of Wisconsin licensing requirements
